Owner, Stylist + Colorist

Hello, I am the owner of The One and Only. I have been a Cosmetologist for 24 years, and I am a Colorist. My family moved to Cheyenne when I was around 4 years old, so I consider myself a native and I love Wyoming. My dad is retired military, which is what brought us here. I am married with a daughter who is nearing 18 years old. Most weekends you can find my daughter and I at the local skating rink. I also enjoy running, yoga, and some minor weight lifting. My husband is also a small, local business owner, and really inspires me to be successful, but take no shit. He encourages me to continue to break societal preconceptions about what is acceptable for and from a woman. (I think he's just really smart in knowing that I am a woman who is going to do what she is going to do, no matter what anyone has to say about it). That, in a nutshell, is who I am.

About four years ago, I finished my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a Minor in Business Management, from the University of Wyoming. I love understanding what lies underneath much of what we as people do. For me, it's really important information required for building the life you want. I am known for saying that I work in mental health, as I have the ability to make a woman feel great about herself every day for months with the work that I do on her head and in her heart. It isn't just about pretty hair with me. It's about empowering other women to be courageous enough to live their lives to the fullest extent of their abilities and desires.

That brings us to The One and Only. My dream for this place is that it is a refuge from the real world realities, stressors, and at times, tragedies. My aim is to continue to build The One & Only into a full-blown wellness center. I am careful in who I choose to have on the staff and within the clientele culture. Here we want to give our clients the absolute best experience and services, then send them home feeling great until their next appointment. We strive to continually better ourselves and what we offer.

I am also quite passionate about supporting other small, women-owned businesses. Many are local, many are not. You can find products from just such places here in our boutique, lots of which are hand-made. The boutique is also the main source of the Gift Basket service. I truly love creating unique gifts, and can work within any budget, for any age and gender. Adding clothing was something I kind of fell into, though I laugh because I've always been an avid shopper. I love Retail Therapy, and purchasing new clothing. Sometimes finding that perfect outfit to go with your pretty hair is all some of us need in life.

Hi there! I'm Alexandra Blackwell, but you can call me Alex. I'm thrilled to be the newest nail technician at "The One and Only" salon! I specialize in sculpted acrylics, 3D art, and all things crazy nail art, but I also love creating beautiful, basic manicures and pedicures. If you're looking for fun designs and nails that stay flawless for 4+ weeks, I'm your girl! Outside of the salon, I'm into skiing, crocheting, sewing, and playing the guitar. I can't wait to get to know all of you—let's create some amazing nails together!

Hi everyone, I’m Kaylee. I recently moved to Cheyenne from Fort Collins, where I have been providing hair and make-up services for the past 3 years. Now I have been given the amazing opportunity to work in both Fort Collins and Cheyenne doing what I love. I offer a range of services, however I specialize in lived in color/ blonding, perms, and special occasion hair and make-up.

As a stylist my goal is to make sure you feel like your best self when you walk out of my chair. Though when I’m not behind the chair I’m typically spending quality time with my family or boyfriend.

Hey! My name is Megan. I grew up an Air Force brat and moved around for all of my life. I settled into Cheyenne about four years ago and absolutely fell in love. I've dabbled in a lot of positions, including everywhere from health care to customer service and retail! One thing that I found in this journey is I adore customer service/ retail because I get to really learn about clients and make them feel good about themselves. I am ecstatic to be able to service Cheyenne's local community.
